Pre-Foreclosure

Georgia has the 15th highest foreclosure rate in the nation with over 12 percent of homeowners at risk of losing their homes in 2024. In February 2024 lenders started the foreclosure process on roughly 22,575 U.S. properties, this is up 4% from last month and  11% from last year.

Common Mistakes Homeowners make when in Pre-Foreclosure

1.) They wait to long. (Either to make a decision or to take action)

2.) Try to put home on market thinking it will sell quickly. (This is not a guarantee, most homes on the market do not sell quickly and usually require upgrades in the home to become comparable to others on the market.)

3.) Putting to much faith in the lender. (Lenders are great that is how most people are able to purchase a home. However, they do not always work as fast as you need them to and they are not usually forgiving when it comes to back payments.)

4.) Losing hope. ( Most people think there are no other options, their credit is ruined, or it's to late to do anything. This is not always the case.)

5.) Thinking all investors are the same. (Not all investors are just interested in obtaining as many properties as they can and some investors offer different options.)
